Introducing our CNC Multicutter - CNC Router with blade

Introducing our new CNC Multicutter CNC router with blade cutting attachment - Hand built in our facility in Los Angeles California.

    The CNC Multicutter is a medium format CNC router and blade cutter with a cutting area of 80" x 16" (2130mm x 406mm) up to 96" x 48" (2032mm x 1220mm) depending on the configuration. Standard sizes are 80" x 16" and 80" x 24".

We call it the Multicutter due to the cutting versatility the machine offers when combining a traditional spindle for routing and milling tasks with an interchangable Donek blade cutter that allows a variety of other cutting tasks wih thin materials that would otherwise not be possbile on a traditional machine.

Core shape, holes, and countersinking geometry using Bobcad

Several years ago a customer asked how to generate g-code to cut a snowboard core shape, binding holes and binding insert countersinking in BobCad v21. While this is a very old Cad/CAM package, it is what came with their CNC and viewers may still be interested in the workflow as other CAD packages often have similar features and would have similar workflow.

Core thickness profile in CAD software

Demonstrating one way to create core thickness profile data and generate g-code to cut ski or snowboard cores on a CNC router. A customer that uses an old version of BobCAD software asked us to show a workflow to taper cores on their CNC. While it shows the workflow on an old version of BobCAD, even if viewers use a different package It should give them an idea how to do similar steps in their own CAD package.

Building skis and snowboards - Part 2

I debated putting these old how to build skis and snowboards videos online because the resolution and video quality is not so great. They were shot mostly in 1998 on a cheap 8mm video camera and then captured on a crappy capture card, dubbed and converted several times over the years so the video looks pretty bad. But, the content is still good and relevant for people looking to learn to build skis or snowboards, so I opted to publish them for now while we are producing the modern 4k high resolution vodeos that will be up later this year. Enjoy and please do not comment about the grainy low rez video, the dogs barking, the crows cawing, mistimed edits, bad lighting etc. I KNOW, but those miscues add to the character, ha ha....
